A very good example of an early pre-regulation band sword.

53cm (20.75”) slightly curved unfullered blade with flat back and hatchet point. The blade is unmarked.

Heavy brass hilt with facetted grip, lions head pommel, foliate cast langets  and curved s shaped quillons ending in flat finials. Prominent tang button.The hilt is unmarked.

Dated: 1837-1856

No scabbard.

The sword is in very good condition for its age. The blade is free from rust and only has some minor staining near the point. The hilt is undamaged.
