A superb example of a British cut steel court sword dating from the earlier part of the 19th Century with original scabbard.

82.5cm (32.5”) straight hollow ground triangular blade with needle point. The blade is decorated on all sides with scrolling foliate designs.

Cut and polished steel pierced disc guard with facetted stud decoration. Cross piece decorated with studs and ornamental ‘pas de anne’ Steel grip decorated with steel facetted studs as is the urn shaped pommel and extended tang button. Double chain link knuckle guard with fob decoration.

Black patent leather scabbard with ribbed steel mounts and cut steel flower stud for sword belt.

The sword and scabbard are in very good condition. The blade is free from rust and staining and the etchings remain clear. The hilt, grip and chain are in very good condition. The scabbard is complete there is minor scuffing to the leather surface.
