BRITISH PRE-REGULATION BAND SWORD – WILLIAM IV

A very good example of an early pre-regulation band sword.

53cm (20.75”) slightly curved single fullered blade with flat back and spear point. The blade is unmarked.

Heavy brass hilt with facetted grip, lions head pommel, foliate cast langets  and curved s shaped quillons ending in flat finials. The hilt is stamped 1832 and 2C over 14.

Dated: 1832

No scabbard.

The sword is in very good condition for its age. The blade is free from rust and only has some minor staining near the point. The hilt is undamaged.
